Ballet Cat Poster Print

The cat holds a correct port de bras, wears the red tutu and pointe shoes with complete professional seriousness, and is billed, deadpan, at the Metropolitan Opera House of New York. A pink ticket-stub border frames the performance; the whiskers are the only thing out of line. It is a one-joke poster, but the joke is in the draughtsmanship — the pose is right, the turnout is right, and the cat knows it. A white frame keeps the staging clean and gallery-like. At 11×14in or 12×18in it fits a dressing area, a bedroom, or a child's room that adults keep wandering into. Pair it with the pink cut-paper Ballet de Paris.
