24×36 Posters — The Statement Size, Priced and Placed

24×36in is where a poster stops decorating and starts anchoring. It is the largest size most living rooms can take as a single print — big enough over a sofa or mantel, small enough to ship and hang without a second pair of hands becoming a project. (Over a full sofa, one portrait print is too narrow — hang two.)

The price at this size

Uniform across the whole catalog (spot-checked 15 October 2026): $64 unframed, $125 framed in any of the four finishes. Only 28×40in costs more. Full ladder: the true cost of framing.

The size in numbers

• 61 × 91 cm, a 2:3 portrait — the same shape as 12×18, so a design looks identical at both sizes, just bigger.
• Wall space: under the two-thirds rule the size calculator uses, a single 24×36 wants a clear area of about 36in wide by 54in high.
• Over furniture: one print spans 24in, which suits furniture about 30–48in wide (a console, a dresser, a narrow sideboard). Over a sofa, a pair of 24×36s spans 51in with a 3in gap — ideal on a sofa of about 76in (two-thirds), workable from roughly 64 to 100in.

Where 24×36 works — and where it doesn't

• Over a console, dresser or mantel: a single 24×36 is the natural statement piece; for a full-size sofa, hang two (see the couch planner).
• As a gallery-wall anchor: one 24×36 with two 12×18 companions is the trio formula behind our poster sets.
• Not for: narrow hallways and above desks, where 18×24 reads better and costs less ($50 unframed).
